Mini Countryman with Trailer Vehicle & Model Description Mini Countryman with Trailer What we have here is a 1:24 Scale die-cast with some plastic model of the Mini Countryman with Trailer. This model, when first looked at, is a reasonable copy of the original vehicle. Done in red & black, this is a very impressive first look. The body and paintwork is of good condition with paintwork that has no runs, bubbles or cracks anywhere on this model. The Body with the panels fit quite well, with an excellent fit whether opening or closing. Even though this is a 5 door vehicle with rear back lift door, only the two front doors and engine compartment can be opened. All other doors and rear tailgate are indentations in the body. Do these give that detail enough to indicate their purpose? In the main part yes, though the 2 rear doors could have been deeper. That what may, they are still very identifiable as to what they represent. The 2-doors and bonnet open, though one would wish that they could open wider. The interior is good for a 1:24 scale and is on a pare with most other models this size. All items like the steering wheel, gearshift are very much to scale. One of the best features of the interior is the placement of decals representing the different items of the instrument module that make the different sections stand out and are very readable. Overall the interior is very good in its presentation. The engine is a reasonable reproduction of the real engine. Apart from some silver added, the rest of the engine is black and if one has a quick look at it, enough for one to get an indication of the real engine. The bonnet shuts with a good gap fit. The trailer that has been added, is one that has been around in some countries in Europe, mainly in Britain. It gives a complete picture of what trailers are used. So overall this model is very good. Looking at it, for its size the impression is a good one. The details are very well shown with no extreme changes to the original Mini Countryman. Those Instrument dial decals could be used in other models of this size, so to improve the interior looks of these size models. It's this that gives this model a higher score than most 1;24 scale models. A 4.5/5.0. Robin Finlay 21/11/2022. Project Manager

The 510's engineering was inspired by contemporary European sedans, particularly the 1966 BMW 1600-2 — incorporating an overhead camshaft engine and four-wheel independent suspension by means of MacPherson struts in front, and semi-trailing arms on the rear wheels.[3] The styling is attributed to Datsun in-house designer, Teruo Uchino.[citation needed] The engine was promoted by Nissan USA president Yutaka Katayama, a design developed through Prince, an acquisition.[4] Launched in October 1967, body styles included the original four-door sedan, a two-door sedan (June 1968), five-door station wagon, and two-door coupé (November 1968). The 510 range became famous for Nissan's rallying successes outside Japan and paved the way for greater Nissan sales internationally. The Datsun 510 released to the North American market had a Hitachi downdraft-carbureted 1.6L L-series I4 engine, with an advertised gross power of 96 hp (72 kW), a claimed top speed of 100 mph, front disc brakes, four-wheel independent suspension (MacPherson struts in front and semi-trailing arms in rear), except the wagons, which had a solid live axle with leaf springs in back. The series was rear-wheel drive, with either a four-speed manual transmission or a three-speed automatic. Two-door sedan, four-door sedan, and four-door station wagon variants were available. It achieved 20 to 30 mpg in factory trim (U.S.). Japanese-domestic-market (JDM) models were also available in a two-door coupe body style with either a 1.6L or a 1.8L (1973) L-Series engine. 510s, in some markets, offered twin Hitachi side-draft carburetors, which were a smaller version of the British SU (Skinner's Union) design used on Jaguars and MGs.[citation needed] These engines also used enhanced compression and camshaft profiles to produce more power. SSS models (not offered in North America) offered upgraded instrumentation and interior trim, as well as appropriate exterior badges. All North American model 510s received anti-sun glass from 1970 on. (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) This is a 1:24 scale die-cast metal with plastic parts of the 1971 Datsun 510 Sedan. Just for a moment, consider for just the last 100 years, the number of manufactures with all their types of vehicles and types of models, just how important it is to attempt some order in which to showcase these various makes and models, to show just how far we have come in each different category. While not the most highly detailed model around, this model is an important model in that the museum has now expanded it Japanese Automotive selection of makes and models available in the 70's. It is in these early eras, that the Japanese car manufactures started to small more better quality built vehicles for which they started to command a bigger slice of the Automotive section. And while there are many models that do have a higher quality build, this model is an good example just how diverse a range of these vehicles that have and will continue to add to the collection. Build quality is very good, and the paintwork, as taken from exiting paint colours available at that time is good. the interior demonstrate the Japanese mindset in that while compared to todays standard, still provided for its day reasonable feature built to an affordable price. The engine again is not the best quality, but still in its basic form, shows the general scope of the engine. Its a good model in that it demonstrates part of the history of the Datsun which in a few years would see the end of that name, but will evolve into the Nissan brand. Overall a 3.5/5.0. • 1957-1979 Ford Ranchero Utility

Click Button to Return Home WELCOME Utilities & Light Trucks 1957-1979 Ford Ranchero Utility Ford Ranchero Utility The Ford Ranchero is a coupe utility that was produced by Ford between 1957 and 1979. Unlike a standard pickup truck, the Ranchero was adapted from a two-door station wagon platform that integrated the cab and cargo bed into the body. A total of 508,355 units were produced during the model's production run.[2] Over its lifespan it was variously derived from full-sized, compact, and intermediate automobiles sold by Ford for the North American market. (wikipedia) The Ford Ranchero coupe utility is a 1:24 scale die-cast metal model. This is stand-in model until a larger 1:18 scale model can be found. This particular Utility is known here in Australian Ford Utility. The body and paintwork is actually quite clean with the paintwork clean with no defects what so ever. The chrome work is also very good, with all the plastic parts such as headlights and door mirrors with back lights very good. Doors and bonnet open reasonably with when closed display little gap . The only problem is that the boot does not open. The interior of the vehicle is black plastic with while the detail displays all the parts quite reasonably. Door panels just show basic detail only in relief with the seats are the same. Dashboard is the same, with because of its scale shows a reasonable indication what the real Ford Ranchero coupe utility looked like. There are no decals on the instrument panel due again to the size. The engine compartment, again in all back, displaces a simple outline of the engine. Again no decals or even like some vehicles, with the air cleaner a different colour. We have the Ford Panel van which is also the same, but the engine detail is more realistic. Not much more one can say, but I guess some makers because of the scale are not prepared to put that extra effort for collectors. so this reflects in the points I give it. 3.0/5.0. • 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner from the movie "Furious 7"

Click to Return Home WELCOME Movie & TV Vehicles < Back 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner from the movie "Furious 7" Plymouth Road Runner From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The Plymouth Road Runner is a mid-size car with a focus on performance built by Plymouth in the United States between 1968 and 1980. By 1968, some of the original muscle cars were moving away from their roots as relatively cheap, fast cars as they gained features and increased in price. Plymouth developed the Road Runner to market a lower-priced, basic trim model to its upscale GTX. Plymouth licensed the Road Runner name, likeness, and "beep beep" sound from the popular Warner Brothers cartoons. Origin Plymouth paid $50,000 to Warner Bros.-Seven Arts to use the Road Runner name and likeness from their Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner cartoons (as well as a "beep, beep" horn, which Plymouth paid $10,000 to develop). The Road Runner was based on the Chrysler B platform (the same as the Belvedere and Satellite), as a back-to-basics mid-size performance car. Model Section : Sports Cars & Luxury Vehicles. Museum Number : 24 - TV105 - 22 - 01 This is a copy of the vehicle used in the movie series “Furious 7” starring Vin Diesel. One must remember that this is in fact a 1;24 scale and there are features that don't translate to this scale. How ever come what may, this is still a car that fits into the movie & TV vehicle section. So let's start with the exterior. I do like the colour. The colour is one of the features of any model that gets the attention of the viewer. Even for its size, I am quite surprised just how well this model has been assembled. All the panels open and close with a good gap that one finds that a models this size can be problematic. However, in this model, it's been done nicely. The paintwork is good with absolutely no faults in the paintwork. Excellent tires with those amazing rims add that extra nice touch to this model. The Interior. Size always makes a difference. Unless you are prepared as a manufacturer willing to spend those dollars on more detailed parts, you must make do with the best you can. While not the best of interior detail, this model still allows collectors to get a good idea of how the actual vehicle looks. Details like door panels and seats are good, as well as the dashboard and centre console have reasonable detail. Because of the scale, details such as dials on the instrument panel are difficult to see. I would regard this interior as good compared to others. The Engine. This is a very basic outline of the engine bay. Again, because this is a mass produced product, it has been seen that detail of the engine was not regarded as important. But for someone giving it a short glance, it still gives some sort of information. Low score on this one. Conclusion. As an example of props used in the making of this movie, this model adds to the variety of vehicles used by movie producers who prefer to use existing vehicles for their productions. Using stock models helps keep costs down, but also allows those fans to know instantly, “ yes that's a Plymouth Roadrunner.” I’ve given it a 4.0/5.0. Just for a moment, consider for just the last 100 years, the number of manufactures with all their types of vehicles and types of models, just how important it is to attempt some order in which to showcase these various makes and models, to show just how far we have come in each different category. And with the Utilities and small trucks section alone, there are just so many that have been produced and it shows no sign of even slowing down. These types of vehicles perform an important part in maintaining our industrialisation of our society, mainly due to these remarkable ability of these vehicles to perform so many daily tasks in so many different industries, that its very hard to appreciate just how much we really depend on these vehicles. And consider this, these are workhorses and built not for looks but for practicality reasons. So having models of probably to many people to be a mainly boring vehicle, that in the greater scheme of things, most people would not even take any notice of them driving along any road or highway. But does that mean that these should never to be remembered. These boring mainly plain vehicles have had just as a major impact on shaping who we are today as any other. And yes having this 1973 Datsun. 620 Pickup in the museum collection is to show our children, hey just look at the amazing vehicles that our ingenuity have produced to perform many different tasks that have built our humanity. So here in our model of this Datsun, we have shown that in 1973 we have a pickup that was used by so many of the different trades that made life more practical in having something perform so many tasks, that to imagine that they made our lives for interesting. This is not the greatest model made, but it is a very accurate model of the real 1973 Datsun. 620 Pickup. So we can show that in 1973, this was what we have, and we can show just how it has improved for better or worse what is now being designed and Built. 3.5/5.0. Robin Finlay. 09/09/2022.
