< Back 1998 Jaguar XKR Opentop Convertible 1998 Jaguar XKR Convertible Model Description Model Details Name of Model: 1998 Jaguar XKR Convertible Scale: 1:18 Manufacturer: Maisto Collection: Sports & Performance Collection Museum Number: 18 - SP125 - 24 - 03 Date Added to YouTube: Description This is a good addition to our selection of that great British range of Jaguar Sports Coupe. The colour of the paintwork, as well as the application to the model, is spot on. With no paint splatter, runs or bubbles, this shows attention has been given to presenting this model. All panels fit well, with no excessive gaps. With all open panels opening wide to give good access to their respective parts. That pair of air scoops on the bonnet, to that Jaguar grill with badge, makes this no doubt that iconic car. All lights fit flush with the body, and with those alloy wheels shows attention to the smallest detail. Open any of the 2 doors, and you can see the attention to detail, to show the luxury that the real SKR was famous for. Right down to soft plastic feel to the stitching to be seen everywhere on the model. The smallest detail includes the buttons that control the seats to the seatbelts. The use of that wood not only on the console, but also where the gearshift is, as well as to extend to the steering wheel. Even at this scale, they were still able to make the instruments inserts to be seen. The engine, viewed, is perhaps underdone. While most detail of the parts of the engine can be seen and identified, more attention is paid to highlighting more parts, like perhaps a window washer bottle or those major parts you would see as if looking at the real engine. The boot does not contain anything, but turning over, you can see the spare tire was under the boot floor. So overall, a good model. Quality paint. Good attention to body fit. Excellent attention to the interior detail. But perhaps just let down a bit in that engine detail. But it is still a desirable and worthwhile collectable model. Buy it? It’s well worth it. A 4.75 / 5.00. Robin Finlay. 04/03/2024. 18 - SP124 - 24 - 03 Previous Next

(Italian: [mazeˈraːti]) is an Italian luxury vehicle manufacturer. Established on 1 December 1914, in Bologna, Italy, the company's headquarters are now in Modena, and its emblem is a trident. The company has been owned by Stellantis since 2021. Maserati was initially associated with Ferrari. In May 2014, due to ambitious plans and product launches, Maserati sold a record of over 3,000 cars in one month. This caused them to increase production of the Quattroporte and Ghibli models. In addition to the Ghibli and Quattroporte, Maserati offers the Maserati GranTurismo and the Maserati Levante (the first ever Maserati SUV).Maserati has placed a yearly production output cap at 75,000 vehicles globally. Model Description Again we have a nice straight model made from die-cast metal with some plastic parts. The paintwork, this very nice blue is one of the points that stand out in this model. With absolutely no pain flaws anywhere on the model. All open panels of this model open wide with a good gap between the different panels. The lights both front & back fit flus with the body as well as all decals nicely placed. Small items like rear vision mirrors as well as all windows are fitted again very well. Those tyres as well as the mag wheels are well suited and give a good overall look to the model. Interior with those deep brown seats, even though plastic still gives that impression of leather. This is an example of good diemaking and quality manufacturing. The necessary parts like gears, hand brakes and all the controls on the steering wheel have been done to the scale that one always expects. The dashboard is well laid out with the instrumentation very readable. Interior door panels show door controls and armrests that are extended from the panel just as the real vehicle. Our engine is quite an impressive one in that there is quite a bit of detail. Done in a more softer colour of metal grey and they have not resorted to using chrome that would not fit in the overall colour scheme. As I said detail is very nice and displaying it with the bonnet up, you would feel comfortable in displaying it. So overall, this is an interesting model and having good italian designs such as the Masratt is a good mix with other Italian vehicles that show beautiful cars that show very distinctive designs that are unique. I love that colour combination of the blue with the brown upholstery a good combination. Overall this is a collectable model and will fit well in most collections. I give this a 4.75/5.0. - 1958 Fordson Major
Click & Return to Index WELCOME Tractors & Farm Machinery 1958 Fordson Major Model Description This is a 1:16 scale die-cast metal with both plastic and real rubber parts. This model was designed and made by Universal Models in England, and is well known for its detailed Tractors and Farm Machinery. Built to their design and quality, that is reflected in this model. The attention to detail is there for everyone to see. The Tractor This model is one of the most detailed die-cast models available for collectors today. This tractor was one of the Fordson brand tractors made in the 1:16 scale, which allowed more detail than was available for collectors. For those collectors who collect these models, this one continues the models put out by Universal. From the front grill to the drawbar at the back, this is a miniature version of the real tractor. Done out in that Ford blue paint, it is offset by the orange of the wheel rims. The paintwork has been presented, and the Fordson emblems and decals, no matter their size, can be read easily. The front wheels can be turned using the steering wheel. The working parts of this tractor, such as the gear shift, hand brake and other components, have been done to the 1:16 scale without that bulky look as on some models. The Engine We have a number of tractors in our collection, yet many of them do not have that degree of detail. So much work has gone into it to show just about every part and even the wiring. The batteries show even the battery leads can be seen attached to the electrical components. We can see the starter setup with the shifter rod that activates the starter. The diesel piping completes from the fuel tank to the fuel injectors that can be seen going to each of the cylinders. The radiator can be clearly seen in great detail, with also the air cleaner right where it should be. Lifting the folding bonnet allows you to see a detailed look at the battery, but also allows you to see in more details of the radiator cooling system with all the hoses. Every small detail, even down to the bolts and screws, can be seen in their place as on the real tractor. The Drivers Work Station The detail continues even with more detail. The controls, such as the hand brake, throttle lever, starter lever, gearbox selector, have been done to an amazing scale. The bucket seat down to the seat cushion is as detailed as everything else. The instrument panel, even though primitive compared to more modern tractors, the details of the individual dials show them just like the real instruments used on the real Fordson. All switches and buttons have been downsized to the scale and identifiable well. The Hydraulic System It's not just the die-cast metal parts produced in such detail, but includes the rear hydraulic system, which has been mainly done in plastic. This shows how fine a detail you can produce using plastic. On the model, the arms can be raised and lowered, and the drawbar can be moved, just like on the real Nuffield. However, because of the detail used on this model, it is unable to use any attachable equipment. The lighting available on the real basic model were the head-lights and the two small lights on the mudguard but no doubt other types of lights would have been available. There is so much going on here. Toolbox, chains that move, the hydraulic arm that moves up and down.
